Charlie McCurdy, CEO of Informa Exhibitions

Atlanta, Georgia – April 3rd, 2017 – The Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO) has awarded the industry’s most prestigious award, the “Robert L. Krakoff Industry Award of Excellence,” to Charlie McCurdy, CEO of Informa’s Global Exhibitions division, one of the top global events organizers by revenues and market reach.

This award is named in honor of a legend of the industry, Robert L. Krakoff, who built and ran some of the most successful businesses in the exhibition industry. It is the only award that SISO gives out, and it is only given to the most impactful leaders of for-profit businesses in the exhibition and event industry.

“The Robert L. Krakoff Industry Award of Excellence is the most prestigious global award an independent organizer can receive on a global basis. Charlie McCurdy has been an innovator, and a leader who has made a positive impact on the whole industry. He certainly is a worthy recipient,” stated Ned Krause, current Chairman of SISO, and a past recipient of the Krakoff Award.
