A Note from our CEO about SISO and the CEO Summit

A Note from our CEO about SISO and the CEO Summit

Greetings from the middle of Winter!

I know many of our members have experienced winter in its harshest form these last few weeks. Our own @AnnaOsnower was herself stranded in the Southeast for much of this week! Better days are ahead. Some thoughts to share:

  • We are nine weeks out from the SISO CEO Summit and have one week left before early bird pricing jumps up to $200 on February 1st. Our current registration list includes many first-time attendees from our newer members as well as members spanning the spectrum of member companies.

  • Our program, directed by SISO’s incoming Chair, Paul Miller of Questex, is essentially complete (expect it to be fully populated on the website this week). It will bring many first-time speakers to SISO or speakers with original content developed specifically for SISO. In Paul’s words, “the content will challenge the industry to embrace the innovation imperative."

  • I visited Tianjin, China and CEFCO this year.  Lots of angst about potential challenges in the tradeshow industry, coupled with a sense of optimism about potential opportunities as well.

  • RX’s Marie Browne shared that the PGA Show in Orlando had a record turnout, and as a recidivist golfer, I can attest to that. I also visited Unicomm’s New York Travel (and Adventure) Show this week and lines at opening were wrapped around the Javits!  Congrats to @John Golicz.

  • If you haven’t already signed up as a sponsor to SISO, please contact Katherine@SISO.org.

  • If you haven’t registered yet and need your code to register, contact Anna@siso.org.

  • If you are trying to plan anything off campus (I’d suggest pre or post-SISO), our resident experts are @Bachmann, Sarin (RX-NOR), and @Tester, Mark. Feel free to ask them for suggestions!

  • Lots more to say, but we are back into the weekly update period, so I’ll be back next week. In the interim, feel free to contact me @VincentPolito.
